LAS VEGAS, NV, June 28, 2009 /Cosmetics PR News/ -- University of California, Irvine Extension spa advisory board member and course instructor, Julie Raistrick, is offering a seminar titled, "Introduction to Spa and Hospitality Operations," at the 18th Annual International Esthetics, Cosmetics and Spa Conference, being held June 13-15 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The seminar will take place on June 13 and 14 from 2 to 5 p.m. in room N227.
"In an economy such as this, it is especially important for spa owners, directors, and therapists wanting to gain an understanding of the general operational and administrative procedures in various types of spas to understand how to conduct business for the long-term," says Julie Raistrick, spa director at Spa Montage at Montage Laguna Beach. "From those operating freestanding day spas to destination and resort spas, participants will develop an understanding of unique sensitivities required in managing and operating in the increasingly lucrative and complex spa industry."
Participants taking this seminar will learn conceptual skills in many of the aspects of business planning and development required to open a spa, manage day-to-day operations and position the spa for future growth. They will also develop strategic planning skills to design a comprehensive business model and marketing plan based upon industry analysis and targeted market research. Further, participants will learn how to develop an integrated service culture that supports profitability, employee retention, and high customer loyalty.
